The assisted living home he is at now is immaculate and beautiful, and everything is brand new. So brand new, in fact, that he is their very first resident at this location, and all the care is directed to him at the moment (he will have some roomies there and have to share soon haha - 6 residents max there). He had a whole team of caregivers and nurses there today tending to him, which will be ongoing as far as all his meals and daily care, PT, nurses, showers, etc. They were all wonderful, and I do admit that I am grateful to not have to be the whole team anymore. 

Doris situated my mom in an environment that provides the essential amenities, of course, but of equal importance, the kind of personal attention and care lacking in institutions that cost more than the 0.1% of our country’s population can afford. Also, Doris herself is readily available at all hours and days of the week.

Two weeks ago, I found myself in a desperate situation with both of my parents.  My son and I had been managing with their care.  But a recent illness had taken such a serious toll on their condition that we needed immediate help.  And after they refused to go to the hospital, we really didn’t know what to do.  I mentioned my predicament to a relative who recommended calling Doris Rodriguez at Care Craft.  Less than two hours after contacting her, she was at our front door.  Soon thereafter, a nurse practitioner, a notary, and a caregiver arrived to assess and help my parents.  That first day, the caregiver Doris highly recommended, stayed with my parents for over 20 hours straight, monitoring their condition throughout the night.  During the first few days of care, Doris and her partners had scheduled the delivery of hospital beds, medications, cases of supplemental drinks, boxes of diapers and bed pads, and even a bather and hairdresser.  After a week of part-time caregiving, we inquired about increasing may parents’ care to full-time.  Doris met with us in person to discuss every detail and answer every question we had, and it was only because of her knowledge and connections that we were able to afford 24-hour care.  The caregiver Doris chose for my parents has worked out better than we could have imagined.  She’s an unbelievably compassionate and kind person, and genuinely cares about my parents’ needs.  The change in their condition since choosing full-time care is incredible.  Their caregiver makes sure they eat and drink everything they should, three times a day.  Simply put, I just can’t praise Doris and the caregiver she chose for us enough.
